For several years I’ve been working with individuals and families, both young and mature, to attempt to identify root causes that may beleading to their symptoms.    Symptoms may range from neurological, immune, hormonal, circulatory, digestive disorders and/or neurodevelopmental.  Regardless of what symptom or symptoms present, there are several areas of testing and interventions that have produced good and even profound results (read testimonials).   I’ve found these areas to be healing opportunities that requireimmediate attention.

All of the stressors discussed below can interfere withnormal healthy functioning.  Please note: not one is more advantageous to identify than the other.    They are not in an order of priority.

1.      Digestive overgrowth (yeast, small intestinal, and or bacterial overgrowth) may interfere with enzyme function that supportsthe stress response (specifically dopamine to norepinephrine).  This is best detected through urine in theorganic acids test.  More information about the organic acids test can be found here.

2.      Histamine/methylation balance.  Elevated histamine indicates poor methylation function.  Methylation is necessary forhundreds of functions in the body including detoxification. This is a critical balance to identify and support.

3.      High oxalates – may be a result of a high fat/low carb diet in combination with insufficient nutrients (digestive enzymes, stomach acid production, micro nutrients, to name a few), or digestiveovergrowth, genetic predisposition and or other stressors.  High oxalates can lead to kidney stones if not caught early.   Furthermore their presence starves the body of minerals. This can be best detected through urine in the organic acids test. Here are a few unique symptoms that may be associated with high oxalates:   burning feet, black specs in stool, a sandy or grittiness to stool, blood sugar imbalances. A recorded webinar can be viewed here.

4.      Mycotoxins – mold toxins are an immunesuppressant.  Exposure to mold, animpairment with detoxification, nutritional deficiencies and other stressors can deplete the fatty coating around neurons, forcing neurological symptoms and force a hyper reactive immune response. This is best detected through urine in the Mycotoxin test.  I’ve blogged about this here.

5.      Nutritional deficiencies.  Not one of my clients has been supported withcritical micronutrients (b vitamins and minerals) from an over the counte rdaily multi vitamin.  Stress requires optimal support.  B vitamins can bedetected through the organic acids test. Minerals can be mostly assessed through the metals hair test.  I’ve blogged about nutritional deficiencies here

6.      Impaired detoxification through bowels, skin, kidneys, liver, lymph nodes all play a role in how the body gets rid of toxinsand waste.   This is best assessed through assessments completed by client and through urine in the organic acids test.  I’ve discussed detoxification challenges here.

There are other lab tests that I find can provide very useful information but it’s very dependent and on a case-by-case situation.  This is the very reason that I offer a 20 minute initial complimentary consultation to help identify the most suited lab tests for every client’s unique situation.

If you’re interested in scheduling an initial 20 minute complimentary consultation, you may do so here.
