I’m three weeks into my Autism Mastery Course, held by pioneer Dr. Woeller, who has mounted successes for the past fifteen years in biomedical interventions for youths with autism.  He is an avid educator, parent advocate and as I mentioned holds successes averaging in the 80 to 85% range.  Many of my clients, peers and colleagues have asked me why am I studying Autism Mastery if I’m offering nutritional biomedical interventions with youths and adults that experience seizures.  I’ve realized that the correlation may not be understood by many of you that have joined in this community.

I’ll try to keep it brief.  When my son was ill and I was intuitively certain that metabolic disorders were the source of his seizures, after doing much research, I sought a D.A.N. (defeat autism now) doctor.  My digging proved me correct.  we assessed my son’s biochemical pathways (through an Amino Acid test, a toxins test and a genetic test) and we achieved the ultimate success.  His seizures ended nearly 5 years ago.  I’ve become very passionate about keeping him healthy and sharing my knowledge with others.  As a result, parents are finding successes too. Now… I can’t stop.  I want to learn everything I can.  And fortunately I have mentors and peers in my surroundings that can support me in learning at an even deeper level.

Many of you may be discovering through support groups, there is a gut and diet connection.  These areas are two of the four main pillars that I’ve been practicing and have become effective at: assessing through testing, and recommending diet, lifestyle and nutritional supplements that meet an individual’s needs.  The other two pillars are nutritional deficiencies and methylation.  The latter I’ve written a few posts and articles on.  Yet, now I have an opportunity to become even more proficient at testing, assessing, and implementing in all of these 4 areas.

Again, the four pillars that I’m studying through the Austism Mastery Course are:

  1.  Diet (identifying individual needs)
  2. Nutritional Deficiencies (assessing and addressing)
  3. Digestive health (identifying infections, healing and recovery)
  4. Methylation (how genetics may be turned on but also can be turned off with nutrition).

Please understand, I’m not learning about how to focus on the behaviors or symptoms, but rather how to address the underlying factors that can affect an individual to manifest symptoms.  Please note that 35%  to 40% of children with autism also experience seizure disorders.

These 4 pillars can support children with not only autism, seizure disorders but also children with asthma, allergies, ADHD and so much more.

To my continued research,

Much light,

Lynn
