A recent medical journal entitled “The roles of vitamin B12 and vitamin D in children with intractable epilepsy” concluded that chronic use of anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) are linked with Vitamin D and B12 deficiencies. Research dates as far back as 1979 when it was discovered that chronic use of AED’s interfere with folate metabolism and contribute to poor bone health, vitamin D related.
