Recent research has revealed that the popular anti-depressant, Wellbutrin, (bupropion hydrochloride) can cause seizures.

The FDA reports that Wellbutrin is contraindicated for individuals with seizure disorders and should not be prescribed.

“A physician considering 31 WELLBUTRIN for the management of a patient’s first episode of depression should be aware 32 that the drug may cause generalized seizures in a dose-dependent manner with an approximate 33 incidence of 0.4% (4/1,000). This incidence of seizures may exceed that of other marketed 34 antidepressants by as much as 4-fold”.

If you or your loved one is experiencing seizures and has been prescribed Wellbutrin please discuss this knowledge with the prescribing physician as soon as possible.

Much light,
