Soy has long been associated with ADD/ADHD, depression, anxiety, dementia and other mental health issues. Now it appears that soy can aggravate seizures as well. Cara J. Westmark, PhD, and her team at the Waisman Center for Developmental Disabilities at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, pull no punches when they warn, “These results have important implications for individuals on soy-based diets.”
The research was conducted with mice in a controlled setting. When the mice were fed soy-based chow for three days, “wild running” and “seizures” were the result.
For many of you abstaining from soy, be sure to look at all foods that you are consuming since nearly 60 percent of American packaged and processed foods and nearly 100 percent of fast foods contain soy ingredients.
Much light,
Lynn
